SYLLABUS
Course objectives
This course teaches students principles and hands-on skills for Internet communication from a communication perspective. It covers five major areas: 1) the development and structure of Internet communication; 2) Related Internet communication technologies; 3) design and evaluation of Internet communication from a communication perspective; 4) management and business of Internet communication; and 5) the impact of the Internet on people's communication behaviour and discourses.

Lecture and tutorial sessions
The 13-week course consists of both lecture and tutorial sessions. The lecture sessions provide the fundamental concept of the Internet and the latest trend of Internet communication such as Web 2.0. Moreover, the lecture sessions also analyse the business requirement of the website and illustrate the success factors of a website. The tutorial sessions provide opportunity for students to build their own website via the latest technology tools. Through the evaluation of the popular websites in the tutorial sessions, students can learn the best practices from the industry experts.
