Announcement
23-Apr: Information on your performance on midterm exam and attendance (up to week 12) is available at the bottom of attendance page. |
20-Apr: Q: From the course website, the Class Schedule page states that the submission date of group report is May 4, but then the Group Project page states that it is due on April 30, so which is the correct date? A: Sorry for the confusion. The deadline is 4 May. The inconsistency has been corrected. |
26-Mar: All students have been invited to finish the second post-test of the experiment via email. For those who didn't get the email, please click the following URL to complete the online survey by Friday (March 27)(Average time taken to complete this survey is 3 minutes). http://www.questionpro.com/akira/TakeSurvey?id=1189669.Your participation (NOT the recall performance) of this post-test will also be counted into your final course grades. |
21-Mar: Four students still haven't made appointment with me for the experiment. The deadline of the experiment participation is 12:00pm on next Wednesday (25th, Mar). If I still can't get your time slot, you wouldn't get the grade of the "individual exercises" part(about 20%). Please check your cityu email for detail. |
21-Mar: Q: I would like to ask something about SPSS. As our questionnaire is designed in English and Chinese, it will appear "messy code" in SPSS when displaying Chinese. Is it okay if we don't correct those "messy code"? As we can understand the result of survey ( because of English version) and it will take us quite a lot of time. A: It's quite normal since several groups met the "messy code" problem. However, you should try your best to solve this problem. One of the solutions (maybe not the best one) is that you compare the messy codes with your orginal questions, and recode them by "recode" command (tranfore-recode into different variables). |
18-Mar: The submission form has been reopened for the groups that failed to submit survey data by the deadline on 17 March. Of course, later submissions will always result in reduction in grade. Also as in the past and future, please do not send any assignment via email, which are not counted. |
17-Mar: Since you will study with SPSS in the following several weeks, I recommand you to download a trail software from the official websites. |
16-Mar: Q: Our group has so far got 155 responses to our online questionnaire. I know we need to have 400 respondents on 17/3. What can we do if we still cannot increase the respondents? Or can we have 400 respondents before 31/3 since we just only have 2 days left? A: All groups need to submit survey results (in *.zip format that includes both *.csv and *.sav files as a package) by 17 March. If any group has not met the quota of 400 by then, the group can and should keep the online questionnaire open with additional recruitment efforts, and update the resulting data until the quota is met or the deadline of data analysis (31 March) is due, whichever is earlier. |
12-Mar: The following groups still have not reported their online survey addresses: T12, T15, T25, T26. |
10-Mar: As of 2pm, 9 March, the following groups have not reported their online survey web addresses: T12, T14, T15, T16; T22, T25, T26. Please act immediately to avoid further reduction in group grade. |
03-Mar: Once each group launches the online questionnaire on 7 March, submit the url address of your online questionnaire to Zhang Lun at the email address on the course syllabus page by 7 March. Delay or no submission will affect the group performance score. |
20-Feb: Comments on 1st questionnaire draft of all T2 groups are available online. |
17-Feb: Q: When exactly is the deadline for the Quantative Research Questionnaire Draft tomorrow. A: The due time for all course works is 23:59pm of the due day, unless specified otherwise. |
03-Feb: 03-Feb: for the first assignment of the group project, please submit both a conceptual framework (i.e., a digram) and a set of corresponding hypotheses (i.e., paragraphs). Use your EID to name the file; otherwise, your file may be overwritten or ignored. |
31-Jan: Please read the following news report (in Chinese) in today's Singtao Daily about nearly half of the parents in Hong Kong didn't know how to monitor their children's online behavior: http://www.singtao.com/yesterday/loc/0131ao10.html We will discuss the following questions in next lecture:
